Gareth Bale: Wales winger ‘not playing happy’ with Real Madrid future uncertain

Gareth Bale admits he is»not playing happily» at the start of this 2019/20 season, after a tumultuous transfer window at which he came near leaving Real Madrid.
The 30-year-old’s projected summer move to Super League side Jiangsu Suning fell amid reports of a falling out with Zinedine Zidane.
Bale, who is contracted at the Bernabeu until 2022, states he stays unsettled at the club.
He told Sky Sports:»I know I was made more of a scapegoat than many, I carry it with a pinch of salt even though perhaps it’s not all fully honest.
«Towards the end of last season was challenging, there is not any denying this, not just for me but for your own group.
«I would not say I am playing happy but I am enjoying, when I am playing I am professional and I am constantly giving all I am, if that be for state or club.
«I am sure there will be plenty more turbulence, to tell the truth. I suppose it is something you’ll have to speak to Real Madrid about and it’s between them and me, and we are going to have to come to some sort of decision.»
Bale feels by scoring two goals in 3, he’s reacted at the start of this 2019/20 term following a troubled pre-season La Liga matches.
Speaking ahead of Wales’ European Qualifier from Azerbaijan, live on Sky Sports, Bale said:»Coming back to pre-season I just kept my head again and I understand there was lots of discussion, with folks saying that the good, poor, or anything they wanted.
«It wasn’t the worst time of my career, it’s been not perfect but I understand how to deal with it and it is about keeping your head down.
«You get rewarded with all the work you put in and I’ve began the season and did a fantastic pre-season even if this hasn’t been the case with the number of matches.
«Matters in football can turn quickly and it is only a matter of time»
Bale is put to captain Ryan Giggs’ side with Ashley Williams yet to come back to full match fitness.
He insists that Wales are concentrated on reaching Euro 2020, in June after defeats to Hungary and Croatia, which have abandoned them second from bottom on three factors at qualifying Group E.
Bale said:»We understand now the strain that is on us since we lost the two games in the summertime, we’re under no denying that we will need to win matches the mentality and the mindset does not change.
«We know the problem and we are going to do what we can to win every game we go into today.»
«We have a terrific team and great deal of kids coming through so it is exciting times but we need to perform on the pitch.»
Wales play Azerbaijan within their second Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
